About the role
We’re working with a large retail group looking for a SAP FICO Functional Consultant. You’ll be responsible for configuring and testing SAP and other third-party FICO functions and module solutions, troubleshooting technical problems, and writing functional and test specifications along with training and testing material. You’ll also provide user support for third-level incidents and resolve business-as-usual issues in line with operational and service processes.

What you’ll do
• Design, configure, and implement SAP FICO solutions, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Asset Accounting, Cost Centre Accounting, and Profitability Analysis
• Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams to gather and analyze business requirements
• Lead and contribute to SAP FICO projects, ensuring successful deployment and integration with other SAP modules
• Recommend ways to optimize FICO processes, policies, and procedures
• Identify suitable solutions for new and existing business requirements, and resolve problems and incidents effectively
• Provide expertise on SAP FICO issues and offer ongoing support
• Optimize and enhance existing SAP FICO solutions to improve financial processes and efficiency
• Produce portfolio and status reporting in line with the agreed communications plan
• Maintain the known-error database, knowledge base, and configuration database, plus testing and training material
• Develop documentation, provide training, and support end-users
• Adhere to IT governance frameworks, policies, and standards

What you’ll bring
• 3+ years of SAP design and configuration experience
• 2 years of Agile experience
• Proven SAP FICO Functional Consultant experience, with functional knowledge across GL, AR, AP, FA, PCA, CCA, and new GL, including interfaces, data migration, and integration
• Knowledge of SAP FICO integration with HCM, and an understanding of SAP development concepts, guidelines, and architecture
• Strong knowledge of SAP integration with other modules such as MM and SD
• ITIL 3 certification (required)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Knowledge of retail industry operating models

Nice to have
• A 3-year IT-related degree (Finance, Accounting, Business, or similar)
• SAP Specialist Certification – FICO
• TOGAF, Agile, and COBIT / PRINCE II certifications
