About the role
We’re working with a leading independent global asset manager with deep roots in South Africa, where technology is a strategic pillar of the firm. Their Investment Technology team designs, builds, and operates the platforms, data foundations, and ways of working that support investment, distribution, and operational capabilities globally, with a strong shift towards AI-centred ways of working and modern operating models built for automation, intelligence, and scale.
They’re looking for an Agile Delivery Lead, a very senior, forward-thinking role for someone with an analytical mindset who can act as a “conductor”, piecing things together across the technology function. The team powers the full investment lifecycle, from research, through portfolio management and construction, trading, risk and performance monitoring, and client reporting, all underpinned by data.

What you’ll do

Roadmap ownership and delivery oversight
• Create and own a clear, consolidated Investment Technology roadmap that reflects the true state of delivery across all value streams, translating strategic intent into time-bound plans teams can execute and sponsors can interrogate
• Keep roadmaps as living artifacts, updated for delivery progress, reprioritization, and changes in strategic direction
• Proactively identify and manage interdependencies and risks across teams, including outside Investment Technology
• Define, embed, and track the metrics and KPIs that demonstrate meaningful outcomes, highlighting variances and driving resolution
• Produce the delivery packs that form the basis of steering committees and leadership meetings
• Chair delivery meetings across all value streams, using consolidated planning data
• Provide clear, timely, constructive feedback to teams, Product Owners, and firmwide leadership

Agile practices and product mindset
• Sustain and continuously improve Agile ways of working, keeping ceremonies effective, cadences upheld, and planning and backlog health strong
• Support Product Owners in refining and prioritizing backlogs to maximize value and stay aligned with strategic priorities
• Ensure each value stream balances BAU and strategic delivery, accurately reflected in roadmaps and reporting
• Help value streams embed DevSecOps principles (automation, CI/CD) for high-quality, secure delivery
• Coach teams on Agile best practice and a product mindset, fostering experimentation, rapid iteration, and continuous learning
• Take part in the firmwide Agile Community of Practice, sharing learnings and contributing to shared standards

Stakeholder engagement and strategic leadership
• Act as principal to the Head of Investment Technology, providing continuity of leadership and representing the function in relevant forums
• Support prioritization decisions across value streams, grounded in delivery data, business value, and strategic intent
• Engage sponsors and Product Owners to ensure strategic alignment and clear prioritization
• Communicate transparently across Investment Technology, the wider investment teams, and other product and service teams
• Connect technology strategy to delivery execution, aligning team output with the objectives of the investment business

What you’ll bring
• Proven Agile delivery leadership: hands-on experience leading Agile programmes across multiple teams or value streams, ideally in financial services or investment management
• Road-mapping and portfolio coordination: the ability to consolidate delivery across complex, interdependent workstreams into a single coherent view credible at both team and executive level
• Stakeholder confidence: a track record of engaging senior sponsors and leadership with clarity, turning delivery data into narrative that drives decisions
• Agile coaching: practical experience embedding Agile practices, supporting Product Owners with backlog prioritization, and fostering a product mindset
• Cross-functional collaboration: comfort working across technology, investment, and business teams, managing dependencies and removing blockers without direct authority
