Banking Relationship Manager

About the role
We’re working with a leading South African Payment Service Provider (PSP) looking for a Banking Relationship Manager to manage and grow its partnerships with the banks. You’ll need a strong grasp of the various payment rails, especially card and the associated scheme rules, and be comfortable operating within a regulated environment.
What you’ll do
• Manage and grow enterprise-level relationships with banking network partners to optimize transaction volumes and service delivery
• Develop and execute joint commercial strategies aligned to business objectives
• Lead complex, multi-party partnership engagements, including negotiation with senior and C-suite stakeholders
• Support onboarding and integration initiatives alongside internal teams
• Ensure optimal settlement flows, risk alignment, and payment infrastructure performance
• Represent the business within the banking and financial services ecosystem
• Use performance data and market insight to inform commercial strategy and report on partnership outcomes
What you’ll bring
• A relevant tertiary qualification
• 5–8 years of account management experience within payments, fintech, or banking ecosystems
• Strong knowledge of card networks, settlement flows, risk management, and payment infrastructure
• Proven enterprise-level business development experience, with the ability to engage and negotiate with senior and C-suite stakeholders
• An established network within PSPs, acquiring banks, payment processors, or financial institutions
• Proficiency in MS Office and data analytics tools
• A driver’s license and the ability to travel
