Business Development Lead

About the role
We’re working with a leading payment aggregator and provider of secure payment solutions that’s growing its team. They’re looking for a Business Development Lead to drive step-change growth in transaction volumes, both by servicing existing billers well and by onboarding new high-volume billers.
The ideal person is a proactive self-starter who can move between high-level strategy and detailed execution. You’re disciplined and tenacious, and you see opportunities through to completion.

What you’ll do
• Drive transaction growth across existing billers and payment channels, both retail and digital
• Identify, source, and onboard new billers
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key biller stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor
• Develop and manage strategic partnerships such as banks and referral partners
• Identify and implement innovative solutions to grow the offering
• Act as the main link between billers, prospects, and internal teams
• Work with marketing to support and strengthen market presence
• Ensure smooth operational delivery across all biller activity
• Monitor, analyze, and report on sales performance, opportunities, and forecasts

What you’ll bring
• A relevant tertiary qualification
• 5–8 years in the payments or financial industry, with referenceable sales and enterprise-level client relationship management experience
• Strong understanding of the payments environment (retailers, digital, banking, card schemes, EFT, settlement, acquiring, and so on)
• A valid driver’s license, own transport, and the ability to travel fairly often
• Fluent business English; additional languages are a plus
