We’re working with an established technology consultancy that builds data and automation solutions for its clients, and they’re looking for a Business Intelligence Consultant. You’ll deliver BI work on client premises — getting to know each business properly, then building the systems and processes that improve how they run.
The role centres on Qlik (Sense/View) implementations, dashboard development, data modelling, integrations and analytics, with some process automation alongside. It’s hands-on consulting: you’ll work directly with senior executives and build skills across a range of industries.
What you’ll do
• Design, develop, test, implement and document data solutions
• Translate business needs into technical specifications
• Build data models, transformations and dashboards
• Prepare and present demonstrations and proofs of concept
• Ensure data accuracy and perform reconciliations
• Automate and add efficiency to client processes
What you’ll bring
• 2+ years hands-on data analysis and advanced SQL — CTEs, window functions, complex joins, temp tables, dynamic queries and ETL
• Experience with at least one BI platform (Qlik, Power BI or similar)
• 1+ years client-facing or consulting delivery, rather than pure back-office reporting
• Proven experience turning business requirements into data models and dashboards
• An engineering or data-related degree is highly preferred — or equivalent practical experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the flexibility to work across client sites
Working model
Office-based in Cape Town, with flexibility — you’ll need to be available to see clients, some on site and some remote.
