We’re working with an established investment management firm, and they’re looking for a Data Engineer to help drive the evolution of its enterprise data platform, delivering trusted data products that power investment, operational and client-facing decisions.
Working across the full data lifecycle — from ingestion and transformation through to trusted consumption — you’ll help ensure data is reliable, scalable and fit for purpose. It’s a hands-on role for an engineer who has designed, built and operated modern data platforms in production.
What you’ll do
• Own data products from ingestion through to trusted consumption
• Build robust data pipelines across structured and unstructured data
• Contribute to data quality, governance and observability practices
• Work with modern cloud-native tooling, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code and scalable data architectures
• Explore how AI and emerging technologies can improve engineering quality and business outcomes
What you’ll bring
• 4+ years’ data-engineering experience, building and operating data pipelines in production
• Strong Python and PySpark
• Microsoft Azure (first prize), or AWS — and their associated data services
• Strong SQL, and ETL / ELT
• CI/CD and a DevSecOps understanding
Working model
Hybrid in Cape Town — three days a week in the office.
