Data Team Lead

We’re working with an established logistics business, and they’re looking for a Data Team Lead to lead a team of analysts and data engineers, building an AI-ready data structure for a digital supply chain.

You’ll lead the team and own the data-warehouse environment on Google Cloud Platform, translating supply-chain business requirements into data solutions.

What you’ll do
• Lead a team of analysts and data engineers — workload allocation, performance and development
• Design, maintain and govern the data-warehouse environment
• Translate business requirements from supply-chain stakeholders into technical data specifications
• Perform UAT and validation, and ensure smooth integration between source systems and GCP
• Take part in multi-disciplined client projects for end-to-end supply-chain improvement, managing timelines
• Interpret and visualise data for business users (e.g. Google Looker Studio)

What you’ll bring
• A relevant degree in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Statistics or similar
• 5 years’ experience in business intelligence / data analysis, and experience leading teams
• Knowledge of BI reporting systems, and experience in a logistics, retail and project environment
• Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Looker Studio (or similar), and Cloud SQL
• Agile methodologies and project management
• Advanced MS Office (especially Excel) and Google Workspace
• A valid driver’s licence and own transport (for weekly client travel)

Working model
Hybrid, based in Cape Town, with some client-site days.
