Website AES Global
A growing financial technology business is building the platform behind its lending products, and it needs a DevOps engineer to own the infrastructure that carries it. You will be the person who makes deployment boring — automated pipelines, infrastructure defined in code, and a platform that scales quietly as both traffic and the engineering team grow.
This is hands-on, with real ownership. You will run DevOps and security projects end to end, build the tooling other engineers rely on, and set the standard for how the platform is provisioned, monitored and secured.
What you’ll do
- Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate and streamline software delivery.
- Provision and manage AWS infrastructure as code with Terraform, designing containerised and serverless architectures across multi-account environments.
- Implement monitoring, logging and alerting, and troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, deployments and application performance.
- Apply a security-first approach — secure defaults, least privilege, threat-aware thinking — working with cloud security and scanning tooling to strengthen the platform’s posture.
- Build internal tooling and platform capability so that engineers can serve themselves as the team grows.
- Administer identity, endpoint and third-party SaaS tooling where it meets developer experience and security.
- Document processes, procedures and configurations so that everything is consistent and repeatable.
- Be available on call during peak periods or product launches when required.
What you’ll need
- A degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field — or the equivalent in practical experience.
- At least three years in DevOps, platform or infrastructure engineering.
- Hands-on AWS experience across serverless and containerised workloads: Lambda, ECS, API Gateway and Docker.
- A track record of building CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery.
- Infrastructure as Code, Terraform preferred – equivalent tooling such as CloudFormation is fine.
- Scripting in Python and Bash, and Git-based source control.
- A security-first mindset, and a solid grounding in networking, security and system administration.
- Genuine comfort and proficiency using AI tools in day-to-day engineering work.
Nice to have
- DevSecOps experience, embedding security throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
- Exposure to recognised security and compliance frameworks.
- Platform engineering — self-service tooling, reusable IaC modules, paved-road workflows for other engineers.
- Observability tooling and managed relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Experience in a regulated financial services environment.
What’s on offer
- Modern tooling and genuine ownership of the platform you build.
- An ambitious, inclusive and fast-moving engineering environment.
- Room to grow professionally as the team scales.
