We’re working with an established electrical equipment manufacturer — a South African maker of medium-voltage distribution transformers and related equipment, supplying utilities, municipalities, industry and renewable-energy projects across Southern Africa — and they’re looking for an experienced, solutions-driven Electrical Engineer.
You’ll contribute to engineering excellence, manufacturing improvement, project execution and technical innovation.
What you’ll do
• Provide technical support across engineering, manufacturing, quality and project functions
• Review and prepare engineering designs, specifications, calculations and technical documentation
• Conduct technical investigations, fault-finding, root-cause analyses and corrective actions
• Support transformer, switchgear, renewable-energy, generator and battery-storage projects
• Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, product quality, efficiency and cost
• Collaborate with Procurement on technical supplier evaluations, and support compliance with SANS standards
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship, and contribute to new product development
What you’ll bring
• A BTech, Advanced Diploma, BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering
• 3–8 years’ experience in manufacturing, medium-voltage power systems, switchgear, industrial electrical projects or renewable energy
• Experience with medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems and technical troubleshooting
• Knowledge of relevant SANS transformer and electrical standards
• A valid driver’s licence
Advantageous
• ECSA registration and a GCC (Factories)
• Renewable-energy project experience and quality management systems
• Fault-level calculations, protection systems and earthing design
