We’re working with an established fintech that provides funding products to small and medium-sized businesses, and they’re looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to help build and scale the systems behind it.
You’ll join a small, hands-on team where you’ll have real ownership and see the impact of what you build. It suits someone who enjoys being across the whole stack and wants to be part of building something tangible.
What you’ll do
• Design, develop and maintain web applications using Python (FastAPI or Flask), Next.js and TypeScript
• Build and maintain database systems in PostgreSQL
• Leverage AWS to deploy and manage applications, and optimise for scalability and performance
• Contribute to scalable system architecture and integrate new AI/ML capabilities where they add value
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests, and troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
• Work in an agile, cross-functional team and document what you build
What you’ll bring
• 3+ years in full-stack software development
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• Proficiency in Python (FastAPI/Flask), Next.js/React, TypeScript and PostgreSQL
• Experience with Docker and containerised systems
• Experience designing scalable, cloud-based systems
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
Advantageous
• NoSQL databases (e.g. DynamoDB) and event-driven systems
• A wide range of AWS services
• Open-source contributions or a solid GitHub portfolio
• Comfort writing unit and integration tests

Hybrid, based in Cape Town.
