Fund Operations Project Analyst
Location: Cape Town (in office)

About the role
We’re working with a leading independent global asset manager with deep roots in South Africa. Their Fund Operations team supports the business by facilitating flows into and out of the funds, and owns the relationship with their transfer agent, overseeing those processes.
They’re looking for a Fund Operations Project Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term basis to play a key role in the project delivery team, supporting the implementation of change initiatives across their fund ranges, spanning product, strategic, regulatory, digital, and operational efficiency change.
What you’ll do
• Identify, gather, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into high-level specifications and design
• Support the delivery of key change initiatives across the fund ranges
• Analyze existing data and systems to identify data quality issues and process gaps, ensuring accurate, compliant data aligned with regulatory and operational requirements
• Use data analysis tools (Advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL) for reporting, data interrogation, and insight generation
• Interpret operational and project-related data to support insight, decision-making, and effective delivery
• Build strong working relationships across teams (tax, product, compliance, operations) and with internal stakeholders and external service providers, ensuring clear communication and effective issue resolution
• Take ownership of allocated workstreams from initiation through to transition into business-as-usual
• Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with a strong focus on data validation, accuracy, and alignment to requirements
• Support post-implementation activities, including validation of production outputs and issue resolution
• Assist the team with ad-hoc tasks as required
What you’ll bring
• Experience within fund operations, transfer agency, asset management, or a related financial services environment
• Experience supporting or delivering projects, business change initiatives, or operational improvements
• The ability to analyze and interpret data independently using Advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar (Python an advantage)
• A problem-solving mindset, able to think critically and challenge processes constructively
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging a range of stakeholders
• A willingness to learn quickly, adapt to change, and take ownership of outcomes
• A methodical, detail-oriented approach
