We’re working with an established consumer digital business, and they’re looking for an Intermediate Full-Stack Developer to help build and scale modern web applications across backend services, APIs and front-end interfaces.
This isn’t a junior role — you’ll independently deliver medium-complexity features and own them end-to-end, from development through deployment and monitoring, while growing your system-design skills alongside experienced engineers.
What you’ll do
• Build and scale backend services in Node.js and TypeScript, designing REST and event-driven APIs
• Work within a modular, domain-driven architecture and integrate third-party and internal systems
• Develop polished, user-facing features in React (Next.js a plus)
• Own features across development, testing, deployment and monitoring
• Debug production issues using logs and observability tooling
• Collaborate closely with product, design and engineering
What you’ll bring
• 3–5 years’ software development experience
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js, and REST or event-driven API experience
• Frameworks such as Fastify, Express or NestJS, and solid async / API design
• React, with strong HTML, CSS and component-based UI fundamentals
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
• Working knowledge of a cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure), CI/CD and containerisation (Docker)
• Testing with Jest or Vitest, and strong Git practices
Advantageous
• Event-driven or real-time systems, observability tooling, and high-scale environments

In office with flexitime, based in Cape Town or Johannesburg.
