Intermediate Full-Stack Developer
Location: Cape Town (hybrid, 3 days in office)

About the role
We’re working with an established retail business looking for an Intermediate Full-Stack Developer to help design, build, and maintain its software solutions. You’ll work across C#/.NET on the back-end and React or Vue on the front-end, building robust systems and collaborating closely with the wider team to turn business needs into well-built software.
What you’ll do
• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of software using C#/.NET on the back-end, with React or Vue.js on the front-end
• Build and maintain back-end systems, data processing, and asynchronous workflows
• Design and maintain relational database schemas, and write complex SQL queries and stored procedures
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and operations to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Drive quality, performance, and maintainability across the codebase, with an emphasis on clean code, automated testing, documentation, and scalability
• Support critical releases and production issues when needed, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Contribute to continuous improvement by proposing and implementing enhancements to tooling, workflows, and the development lifecycle
What you’ll bring
• Solid full-stack experience using C# and .NET (framework and/or .NET Core / .NET 5/6+)
• Proven experience building responsive, modern interfaces with React or Vue.js
• Strong SQL, including schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures
• A demonstrable track record of solving technical problems, with strong analytical and debugging skills
• Attention to detail and high code-quality standards
• Excellent communication and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
Nice to have
• Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure
• Experience with MVC (e.g. ASP.NET MVC), Blazor, or .NET MAUI, or other modern .NET frontend/desktop/mobile frameworks
• Understanding of message brokers (e.g. RabbitMQ or Kafka) and asynchronous / event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with legacy or desktop development using WinForms
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Exposure to agile methodologies and tools (Scrum, Kanban, Jira)
