Intermediate Product Manager

We’re working with an established fintech that provides funding to small and medium-sized businesses, and they’re looking for an Intermediate Product Manager to take ownership of product development across their platform.

Reporting to the Head of Product, you’ll work on both internal operational tools and customer-facing products — from feature enhancements to new initiatives — and help establish product-management practices as the team scales. It’s a hands-on, autonomous role in a lean, fast-moving team.

What you’ll do
• Lead product ideation and customer research
• Write comprehensive technical specifications and product requirements documents (PRDs)
• Design user workflows, wireframes and interface designs (e.g. in Figma), and maintain system documentation
• Develop and maintain product roadmaps, and establish product-management processes and standards
• Troubleshoot issues across the technology stack, and understand integrations between CRM, ERP and the lending platform
• Prioritise and manage feature requests, communicate development timelines and sprint planning, and coordinate with external partners and payment providers

What you’ll bring
• 2–5 years of product-management experience
• Experience in payments or payment processing, and a background in fintech or financial services
• Proven UX/UI design experience with shipped products, and strong process design for complex workflows
• Technical-writing skills (specifications, PRDs, documentation)
• A systematic approach to troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently
• Proficiency with AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) for productivity

Advantageous
• Startup or high-growth fintech experience
• Figma or similar design tools, and finance / lending domain knowledge
• API integration and technical-architecture understanding, and SQL or data analysis

Office-based in Cape Town.
