JavaScript Engineer (Angular, React, Vue)

A leading South African software engineering and solutions company is looking for a JavaScript Engineer to build world-class web and mobile applications for some of the country’s best-known organisations.

This is consulting-style engineering across a large portfolio of client projects, so the work changes and so does the framework — the value is in knowing which one to reach for. You’d join a team of engineers who take craftsmanship seriously and who are expected to keep growing.

What you’ll actually be doing

• Developing high-quality web and mobile applications for major client organisations
• Getting involved across the software lifecycle — some analysis, design and architecture alongside the development work
• Improving the quality of what ships through containerisation and continuous integration, building a well-oiled DevOps process
• Researching current technologies and finding ways to apply them on your project
• Solving complex business problems with your team, and pushing yourself and the people around you

Technologies you could be working with

• Angular, React and Vue.js
• Node and Express, with MongoDB
• NPM package management and build tooling such as Webpack

What you’ll need

• A bachelor’s degree in IT or the sciences — BSc, BIS, BEng or BCom — which is non-negotiable for this role
• The ability to build applications within an enterprise environment
• A solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals
• Commitment to clean code and industry best practice
• A passion for delivering well-crafted solutions that make an impact for the client
• A hunger to keep improving, and the appetite for a challenge
• The ability to collaborate and contribute in a team
