Junior Data Analyst

We’re working with an established financial services business that’s building out its data capability, and they’re looking for a Junior Data Analyst to help turn everyday business data into clear, usable insight.

This is a strong first or second role for someone analytical who enjoys working with data and wants to grow quickly. You’ll be given real responsibility early, with plenty of support from an experienced team around you.

What you’ll do
• Query databases and data warehouses to pull insight out of business operations
• Build reports, visualisations and dashboards that help teams across sales, operations, credit and product understand performance
• Partner with business teams to understand their data needs and turn them into analysis
• Help teams base their calls on evidence rather than gut-feel
• Own data quality — spot gaps and inconsistencies, and help improve the underlying data

What you’ll bring
• 0–3 years’ experience in data analysis or a related field
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one data-visualisation tool (Power BI, Tableau or similar)
• Comfort with Excel/spreadsheets; Python or R is a plus
• A bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science or a related field
• Strong problem-solving, curiosity and attention to detail, and the ability to explain findings clearly to non-technical colleagues

Working model
Hybrid, based in Cape Town, with time split between home and the office.
