A growing technology business in Cape Town is looking for a Junior Developer in Python and JavaScript — someone who wants to work across commercial, operational and technical ground rather than sit in a purely technical seat.
What you build gets used, and you’ll see the commercial effect of it rather than hearing about it second-hand. Real responsibility goes to everyone regardless of level, backed by coaching from more experienced developers, which is what makes it a fast place to learn. There is very little hierarchy — genuinely a best-idea-wins environment, where titles are not really a thing.
What you’ll be doing
- Building and maintaining internal tools and customer-facing features in Python and JavaScript
- Working across the stack rather than in one narrow layer, on whatever the problem actually needs
- Taking a problem from the question to the working answer, with a more senior developer alongside you
- Getting into the commercial and operational side of the business, not just the code — understanding why a thing is being built and what it is worth
- Improving how the team builds as you learn, and having your ideas taken seriously while you do
What you’ll need
- Python and JavaScript
- A Computer Science or Engineering degree, with strong academic results
- Demonstrated or expressed interest in working across commercial, operational and technical areas — not pure development
- A problem-solving nature: keen to get your hands dirty and see a job through
- Willingness to take on real responsibility in a business that moves quickly

At least half your time in office, with real flexibility over which days and hours.
