We’re working with an established investment management firm, and they’re looking for a Process Engineer to help modernise how its investment teams work — bringing a business-analysis mindset to designing better processes and writing the specifications that let AI tooling build solutions.
This is a hands-on, analytical role at the intersection of technology and investment. It’s not a straight business-analyst role, and it doesn’t involve coding — instead, you’ll write clear, accurate specifications for AI-assisted development and drive new ways of working.
What you’ll do
• Analyse and design better processes that deliver precise, accurate, impactful outcomes across asset types for investment teams and clients
• Bridge the gap between technologists and investment professionals, staying in the detail of delivery
• Produce accurate features (Agile) and clear specifications that AI tooling can build from
• Work with engineering leads and product owners to deliver value iteratively
• Take part in design, planning and architecture sessions, keeping outcomes clear, functional and measurable
• Use modern tooling to analyse data and build automations
What you’ll bring
• At least 3 years in financial services / asset management
• An understanding of how an asset manager’s investment processes work, and a desire to modernise them
• An understanding of data and data flows (data and systems architecture)
• Strong SQL skills
• Exposure to modern tooling such as Python to reduce manual effort and enable AI-assisted development
• Experience consuming HTTP APIs (e.g. REST, GraphQL), databases and files
• Intellectual curiosity and a self-directed approach
Advantageous
• A relevant degree (beneficial, not required)

Office-based in Cape Town.
