We’re working with an established consumer digital business, and they’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to build and scale modern web applications across backend services, APIs and front-end interfaces, and to help set the technical direction.
You’ll own complex features end-to-end — from architecture and development through deployment, monitoring and production reliability — and mentor the engineers around you.
What you’ll do
• Design and scale backend services in Node.js and TypeScript, building REST and event-driven APIs
• Work within a modular, domain-driven architecture and lead integration with third-party and internal systems
• Develop polished, user-facing features in React (Next.js a plus)
• Own features across development, testing, deployment and monitoring, and drive production reliability
• Debug complex production issues using logs and observability tooling
• Contribute to architecture decisions and mentor intermediate and junior engineers
What you’ll bring
• 6+ years’ software development experience
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js, with deep REST / event-driven API experience
• Frameworks such as Fastify, Express or NestJS, and solid async and API design
• React, with strong HTML, CSS and component-based UI fundamentals
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar) and sound data modelling
• Solid cloud experience (AWS, GCP or Azure), CI/CD and containerisation (Docker)
• Testing with Jest or Vitest, and strong Git practices
Advantageous
• Event-driven or real-time systems, observability tooling, and high-scale, high-traffic environments
Working model
In office with flexitime, based in Cape Town or Johannesburg.
