About the role
We’re working with an established technology consultancy that helps enterprise clients build strong cloud foundations, modernize their applications, and adopt cloud-native ways of working. They’re looking for a Senior Google Cloud Engineer to take on a hands-on, strategic role across Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
This is a mix of deep technical engineering and architecture guidance. You’ll work alongside cloud, data, software, and customer teams to design environments that are scalable, secure, resilient, and operationally solid. The role leans heavily on Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, modern application architectures, Kubernetes and containers, and enterprise cloud governance. You’ll also advise teams on platform engineering, automation, security, observability, and modern software delivery.

What you’ll do
• Design, build, and support secure, scalable GCP environments
• Establish and maintain cloud foundations, landing zones, and governance standards
• Guide customers and internal teams on cloud-native development and application modernization
• Advise on best practice across architecture, automation, scalability, security, reliability, and operational excellence
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Support Kubernetes and container-based platforms and deployments
• Contribute to CI/CD automation, observability, monitoring, and platform engineering
• Mentor engineers and help build capability across the team

What you’ll bring
• 5+ years in cloud or platform engineering
• Strong hands-on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience
• Experience designing and building cloud foundations and enterprise cloud environments
• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container platforms
• Experience modernizing applications and enabling cloud-native development
• Solid grounding in networking, IAM, cloud security, monitoring, and operational best practice
• Experience in customer-facing or consulting environments
• Ability to guide architecture discussions and technical decision

Nice to have
• Multi-cloud experience across AWS and/or Azure
• Platform engineering and SRE practices
• CI/CD tooling and GitOps
• Data platforms, analytics, or AI/ML workloads
• Google Cloud or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) certifications
• Experience in enterprise environments
• Observability tooling such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog
