We’re working with an established technology business, and they’re looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the team that builds and maintains its rapid application development platform and Java-based framework — the tools its product teams use to build what they take to market.
You’ll contribute to architectural design, own the technical excellence of the platform, champion best practice, and help develop junior product developers.
What you’ll do
• Develop and maintain a rapid application development platform and a Java-based application framework
• Contribute to architectural design and own the technical excellence of the products
• Develop and communicate best practice across product development
• Support the technical growth of junior developers
What you’ll bring
• 10+ years’ overall experience in IT, with 10+ years in development
• 5+ years’ Java development experience
• 10+ years working with SQL databases, ideally PostgreSQL
• A strong team player, problem-solver and quick learner — dependable and dedicated
The team’s technologies include
• Java SE (8, 21, 25), Java EE 8, JBoss Undertow, EJB, JMS, JDBC, JNDI and Glassfish
• Git, PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, Docker and Ubuntu
Working model
Hybrid in Cape Town — one day a week in the office, with flexi-hours.
