An enterprise software consultancy in Johannesburg needs a Senior Mobile Software Engineer to work on enterprise-grade mobile applications. You’re someone who has mastered mobile: a deep understanding of the ecosystems, the best practices and the interface design that separates a good app from a tolerated one.
You’d join a community of highly skilled engineers, and the role carries real seniority — mentoring, influencing how the team works, and setting the bar others work to.
Delivery
- Build high-quality mobile applications used at genuine scale by large, established organisations
- Raise the quality of what ships, using containerisation and continuous integration to tighten the release process
- Work across the lifecycle — system design, analysis, scoping and estimation
- Research current technologies and put them to use on your project
People and customers
- Mentor and grow other engineers
- Influence change within the team and drive a collaborative culture
- Coordinate with teams to meet quality standards and timelines
- Build strong client relationships, understand the business need and manage expectations
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and strategic alignment
- Ensure compliance with data security and industry regulation
What you’ll need
- A bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering or another of the sciences
- At least 6 years as a software engineer in an enterprise environment
- Experience in a delivery team working alongside other disciplines to ship a product
- A solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals, and commitment to clean code and best practice
- Proficiency, ideally mastery, across a range of technologies, and the agility to pick up new ones
- The ability to architect and structure a discrete piece of work end to end
- Experience interfacing with REST APIs
- Experience deploying to the app stores
