We’re working with an established technology business, and they’re looking for a Technical Operations Specialist to sit at the centre of their technical operations — keeping client data flowing, keeping integrations moving, and keeping external tech partners aligned.
This is a hands-on technical operations role, not a platform-build role. You’ll take ownership from day one — scoping integration requirements, coordinating projects, and working independently to keep everything on track. It suits someone technically minded with real, hands-on experience of APIs, data workflows and systems integration.
What you’ll do
• Act as first-line technical support for workflow and data-flow failures across client systems — triage, resolve known issues from SOPs and escalate the rest
• Monitor data-flow logs, spot recurring failures and help improve data integrity
• Coordinate external tech partners and developers — track active integration projects, follow up on open items and keep progress visible
• Create and maintain SOPs and documentation, and run UAT for new integrations
• Do the preliminary technical work on custom integrations — review API docs, map data fields, pull sample data (e.g. via Postman) and produce a clear technical brief
• Own internal knowledge of the integration products — how they work, how they’re configured and how they connect to client systems
What you’ll bring
• At least 2 years’ hands-on technical experience (not a graduate or intern role) — able to operate independently from day one
• Solid understanding of APIs — reading documentation, recognising the right endpoints, calling them (e.g. Postman) and interpreting outputs
• Hands-on ability to read a relational database (e.g. Postgres) and extract or compare data
• A working understanding of CRM systems and how data flows through them
• Hands-on experience building workflows in an automation platform (n8n, Make or Zapier)
• Experience setting up webhooks and mapping data between connected systems
• Comfortable using AI tools daily, and strong at coordinating moving parts without being chased
Advantageous
• Exposure to a CRM and a project-management tool (e.g. HubSpot and Asana, or comparable)
• Understanding of reservation or hospitality systems
Working model
Mainly remote, based in Cape Town, with occasional on-site days as needed.
