Website AES Global
An established African travel business is looking for a UX Architect to pioneer the full digital rebuild of its ecosystem — bridging cutting-edge AI and genuine human connection.
The mission is to design frictionless, visually striking journeys that move people and, crucially, drive high-intent traveller enquiries. You’d be the UX authority across engineering, SEO and brand, accountable not for how it looks but for whether it works.
What you’ll do
- Behavioural research: deep-dive user research and A/B testing, using AI-driven analytics to find and remove friction for the high-net-worth traveller
- AI-first architecture: design for the “answer engine” era, optimising journeys so the brand holds authority within AI-generated summaries and cited content
- Conversion-centric design: lead the overhaul of the website and blog into intuitive, conversion-optimised layouts that measurably raise enquiries and booking value
- Information engineering: organise complex destination data, product catalogues and FAQs into a clean, responsive interface across all devices
- Data-driven optimisation: work with BI and performance marketing, using real-time data to refine navigation and stickiness
- Cross-functional leadership: translate business goals into functional, high-fidelity Figma prototypes
- Scalable systems: build and maintain a design system that handles multi-language international markets
What you’ll need
- A robust portfolio of website and platform work — this one is non-negotiable, and it needs “before and after” case studies showing how your design improved business KPIs
- A track record designing interfaces where the primary success metric was lead generation or enquiry volume
- Deep understanding of how AI is changing search behaviour, and how to structure content for AI agents and answer engines
- Proficiency in Figma, plus AI-assisted design and analytics tools
- Real insight into user behaviour and the high-net-worth consumer — where they click, how they search, why they convert
- A mindset that thrives on being held accountable for design decisions
Nice to have
- Experience in high-end travel, luxury goods or complex e-commerce platforms
What’s on offer
A rare brief: full authority over the digital rebuild of an established travel brand, working with a high-performing team, plus staff access to the company’s own travel programme.
Cape Town. Hybrid. Permanent.
