Head of Development

The Company:

A new age financial service platform specialising in cryptocurrencies is looking for a Head of Development. The organisation is based internationally but has offices in South Africa and is looking to make crypto more accessible. Candidates can expect to form part of a team with diverse and unique backgrounds and an organisation that values what different perspectives can bring.

The Role:

• Lead your team.
• Oversee recruitment.
• Perform various functions relating to a team leadership role.
• Upskill team members where appropriate.
• Career and skills development.
• Facilitate product delivery.
• Take ownership of technology and methodology decision making for your team.
• Standardise system architecture, reusable code base development, versions of software tools, best practices, source control and deployment processes.
• Objectives and Key Results:
  • Define, review and report back.
  • Assist team leads in OKR set-up.
  • Ensure OKRs align with team and organisation goals.
• Ensure latest software development technologies are implemented.
• Ensure coding standards are upheld.
• Write clean, well documented code.
• Design and build database schemas.

Experience:

• Relevant degree or diploma.
• 5 years or more back-end experience.
• 2 years or more front-end experience.
• 1 year or more lead experience.
• C#.
• .NET Core v2.2.
• ReactJS.
• HTML5.
• CSS.
• RESTful API.
